Greg Nace – President
Greg’s education includes two master’s degrees – one as a DuPont fellow in Public Garden Administration from the Longwood Program; and the other in Duke’s Environmental Leadership Program, which is designed for environmental business and community leaders. He also earned two university certificates – one in Museum Studies (University of Delaware), and another in Non-Profit Management (Duke University).

Kitty Vagley – Director of Development
Kitty is a graduate of Duquesne University and Duquesne University School of Law.  She brings 20 years experience in the field of development, beginning with her work on the Oakmont Boulevard Projects.

Marcia Clark, MPM – Special Projects Advisor
Marcia has worked 20+ years in the non-profit sector. She is the Founder of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Western PA, a founding board member of the Make-A Wish Foundation of America and later its national executive director. Her Masters in Public Management from Carnegie Mellon University specializes in Non-Profit Administration.  She is a graduate of Chatham University, has a private pilot’s license, and is one of 60 working kaleidoscope artists in the US.

Brian Heap – Horticulturist
Brian graduated from Southeast Missouri State University with a degree in Business and Horticulture. He owned and operated a wholesale greenhouse operation for ten years. Brian was a grower in the production greenhouses at Missouri Botanical Garden.

Chris Massimino – Ethno-Botanist
Chris graduated in May from Frostburg State University in Maryland, one of only two universities that offer such a major.  He brings a unique interdisciplinary approach to botany and natural resource management.  He is helping to rid the woodland gardens of invasive species.

Melissa Smallwood – Database Coordinator
Melissa has over 10 years experience working with nonprofit organizations. She has worked at the National Aviary, the Western Pennsylvania Conservancy and has completed a Masters Degree at Chatham University. msmallwood@pittsburghbotanicgarden.org

Amanda Trakselis- Horticulturist
Amanda is a graduate of the University of Illinois C-U with a degree in Ornamental Horticulture. She has worked at gardens both home and abroad, most recently for the University of Cambridge in England.
